Marabout Sylla carries on the tradition of a West African family of marabouts. His work starts with listening: understanding what you’re asking, and explaining what he reads before he suggests anything.
Understand first,

A troubled relationship, a worry about protection, a hard stretch at work: none of these comes down to a formula. Marabout Sylla starts from your story, then reads the cowrie shells as a support for spiritual interpretation. It sheds symbolic light on your question. It is not proof of what someone else intends, and it is not a certainty about the future.

Marabout Sylla comes from a family of marabouts in the West African tradition, known as Les Marabouts Sylla. He sees his role as that of a spiritual guide, a counselor, a scholar and a man of faith, in service of the community.
An Arabic proverb sums up his approach — العلم نور والعمل به حياة: “Knowledge is a light, and putting it into practice is a life.” That’s the spirit in which he reads the cowrie shells: knowledge he received, put to work on your question, in a real conversation where you can stop him, ask what something means or take a step back.
